Troubleshooting
Charts show "No data" or are blank
Check your data source connection
Open Resource → Manage added data sources and confirm each source is connected to your own property. A broken connection shows a warning icon.
Check the date range
The report may be set to a date range before your data starts. Click the date range control and extend it back further.
Check your data source has data
If you recently set up Google Analytics 4 or Search Console, it may take a few days for enough data to accumulate for charts to be meaningful.
Check you connected the right table (Search Console)
The Search Console connector has two tables: "Site Impression" and "URL Impression". Different pages of the template use different tables. Refer to the setup guide included in your purchase email for which table to use on each page.
"Configuration error" or "data source error" message
This usually means the data source was disconnected or your account no longer has access.
- Open Resource → Manage added data sources
- Click Edit on the affected source
- Click Edit connection and re-select your property
- Click Reconnect
Calculated fields show errors after copying
This happens when the data source is changed during the copy step instead of after. The fix is to re-create the data source connection:
- Open Resource → Manage added data sources
- Click Edit on the affected source
- Click Edit connection and select your own property
- Click Reconnect (do not use "Change data source" — use the connection edit only)
If errors persist, contact us with the error message and we will help you fix it.
The template looks different from the preview
You may be in edit mode
Some layout elements only display correctly in View mode. Click View in the top-right to see the report as it will appear to others.
Your data volume is different
Tables and charts resize based on the amount of data. A table with 5 rows will look different from one with 50 rows. You can adjust chart sizes to suit your data.
I cannot make a copy of the template
Check you are signed in to a Google account
You must be signed in to copy a Data Studio report. Visit accounts.google.com to sign in.
The link may have expired or changed
If your purchase was recent and the link is not working, check your spam folder for the delivery email. If you still cannot access it, contact us with your order reference and we will re-send it.
A filter or date control is not affecting all charts
Some charts may be configured to ignore report-level filters. To fix this:
- Click the chart that is not responding
- In the Setup panel, scroll to Filter and check "Apply filter"
- For date ranges, check that the chart's date dimension matches the report-level date field
The report is slow to load
Large datasets can make Data Studio reports slow. To improve performance:
- Narrow the default date range (e.g. use "Last 30 days" instead of "Last 12 months")
- Reduce the number of data points shown in charts where possible
- Avoid using too many cross-filtering controls on a single page
